Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

  • Newsletter: your email address when you subscribe.
  • Contact form: your name, email address and message.
  • Analytics (only if you accept): pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser type, collected by Google Analytics.
  • Paid subscriptions (when launched): billing details, which are handled by our payment processor. We do not store card numbers.

2. Cookies and local storage

We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so we can remember it. Analytics cookies are off by default. If you accept them in the banner, Google Analytics is enabled to measure aggregate traffic; if you decline, it stays off and the site works normally. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

3. How we use your data

We use your email to send the research letter you signed up for and to reply to your messages. We use analytics in aggregate to see which notes are read and how visitors find us. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Service providers

We use these providers to run the site. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy policy:

  • Web3Forms for newsletter sign-ups;
  • Formspree for the contact form;
  • Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies, and Google Fonts, which loads our typefaces from Google's servers;
  • our web host and content delivery network, which serve the site and may log standard connection data such as IP address.

5. Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the research letter at any time using the link in any email we send. You can ask us to access or delete the personal data we hold about you by contacting us.

6. Retention

We keep subscriber and contact-form data for as long as needed to send the newsletter and answer enquiries, or until you ask us to delete it.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is the one in force.
